November Update

Our November coalition meeting was very productive with lively discussion & action planning.
We heard from Kitty Huffstutter from Clackamas County Division of Children Youth and Families, who facilitated an excellent starting point for our community data and needs assessment.  This is the phase of development that allows the coalition to determine Oregon City’s measurable strengths and its concerns.  Once we have an accurate assessment of our needs as a community, we can to develop a focused and strategic approach to addressing them.
Also, please join the coalition in welcoming our newest Steering Committee members, Paige Hirt and Gerry Hill.
Paige Hirt, LPC, CADC I, holds a private mental health & addictions counseling practice in Oregon City.  As a parent with three children in Oregon City Schools, she brings personal dedication and professional insight to the coalition.
Rev. Gerry Hill has served as pastor at United Methodist Church in Oregon City since 2009.  His engaged and committed support of OC Together has led to advocacy of the Family Day initiative, thoughtful testimony to the City Council, and consistent positive framing of the coalition’s mission.
Notice!  There are still two openings on the Steering Committee, and we will be selecting new co-Chairs at our January meeting.  We are also currently seeking new members from Oregon City’s Healthcare and Business communities.  With the thoughtful participation of so many, there is no doubt that good things are in store.
